Frequently Asked Questions

  • How does this work?

I will come to your home for each session to be able to work together within your actual environment to find systems that will help your home function in the way that works for your family.

  • What is the cost?

For each session, we will meet together for 1-2 hours at the rate of $200/hour. It is preferred the first session be a minimum of two hours. If you live farther than 20 miles, there will be a mileage charge as well.

  • Can we use insurance?

Although I am a licensed professional mental health therapist, I will not be able to bill insurance for this service. It will, however, include knowledge and skills gathered from my training and profession.

  • Can I get a free consultation call?

Yes! I am always open to doing a 15 minute consultation call to make sure this is a good fit for both of us.

  • How frequently do we meet?

Frequency and length are adjustable depending on needs. It can be one time, weekly, every other week, monthly, etc. depending on what you are needing. My goal is to work myself out of a job so that eventually you will be confident in systems that are working for you and your ability to accept, maintain, and be at peace within your home.

  • What's the difference between this and a professional organizer?

Professional organizers often come into your home and use their ideas of organization to work on their own to organize your home and then leave you to figure it out. Working together, however, we find the actual systems that work by accommodating your needs. Using my mental health expertise, this is all about being at peace within yourself and being kind to yourself.

  • Can this be done remotely?

We can absolutely work together remotely with the understanding that it will be a very different type of session with lots of on your own “homework” and potentially more sessions than in person.

  • What is an example?

One example I love is that laundry was not getting done in one household and it felt very overwhelming so that the person in charge of laundry felt too overwhelmed to ever begin. They transformed their basement laundry room into the family closet so that all clothing items can stay in the laundry room, making it less intimidating and removing barriers to getting the laundry done and put away.

  • What can be included?

The content of our work together will be individualized and can include (but not limited to) actually organizing together, time management skills, going shopping to find the right option for your home, putting it into place, processing our emotions associated with keeping house, and education for family members on the systems and mindset.
